Grand Circuit Denoix Onion Shoe — Size 3
Designed by Jean-Marie Denoix, DVM, PhD (France). The Onion shoe (named after the “corn”) helps protect the seat of corn from ground pressure and adds “float” at the heel by limiting heel penetration in soft footing. Intended for the front limb, it offers firm heel support with a rolling toe and relief along the collateral aspects of the foot. Commonly used in rehabilitation programs and for mild presentations of navicular-related pain where targeted heel support is desired.
Indications
- Mild clinical signs associated with the podotrochlear apparatus (navicular-type pain)
- Support during rehab for DDFT or distal check ligament–related cases (per clinician guidance)
- Protection of the seat of corn; limiting heel penetration in soft ground
Construction
- Asymmetric heel-support design with a pronounced onion/heel platform
- Aluminum therapeutic shoe; shaped hot or cold
- Rolling toe with collateral relief to ease breakover
- Typical stock ranges (reference line): sizes 4–10 from 3/8" (9.5 mm); sizes 10–12 from 1/2" (12.7 mm)
